MINNESOTA CASE STUDY – TASTE OF THE FUTURE

A snapshot of Minnesota’s THC beverage market –including social and financial impact. Minnesota’s regulations allowed for collaboration between alcohol and hemp brands and other supply chain/strategic partners, but have also normalized THC beverage accessibility and consumption through multiple points of retail and on-premise consumption where alcohol is sold and served.

While regulations are still being established in various markets across the US, CABA has hosted a monthly series for distributors so they can make educated decisions when selecting THC beverages to add to their portfolio, ensuring only high quality and safe THC beverages are accessible to the consumer through mainstream retail.

CABA aims to unite the hemp and alcohol industries to allow accessibility, commerce, and sensible regulation of hemp-derived THC (Delta-9) beverages. The coalition focuses on educating and influencing federal legislation through a clear code of operating conduct and sensible product and marketing regulations that promote consumer safety.

CABA recommends the following regulations:

  • Age gating (21+)
  • Third-party testing
  • Standardized packaging
  • No marketing to minors
  • Low dose beverage caps (up to 10mg per serving, 100mg per package)
